Former President Donald Trump has gone years without posting to a mainstream social media network, but that may be changing soon. It was announced that Trump’s accounts on the Meta-platform, meaning tied to Instagram and Twitter, were re-instated, This led to a lot of panic on Facebook as well as Twitter, afraid of what his presence could do to the sites.

trump and facebook are two things that used to be popular but that most people are tired of and whose popularity is kept afloat by internet-addled aging rageposters. they deserve each other but i dunno if any of this matters as much as it did in 2021. https://t.co/b1EWa8o133

The number one theme amongst the detractors is a sense of Trump not earning a second chance to be allowed back onto these platforms. This is mainly done by calling attention to the January 6th capitol riot and somewhat called ‘Insurrection,’ and how it is believed to have spread so rapidly to nearby people via social media.
Just to be clear: Donald Trump used Facebook to help incite an insurrection and when Facebook banned him, they acknowledged the danger and harm his actions caused.
