Top gainers, losers May 25: Bajaj Auto, ITC, Tata Motors among most active stocks; check full list here

The Indian benchmark indices ended Thursday’s volatile session higher led by gains in auto, FMCG and realty stocks amid mixed global cues. The Sensex gained 98.84 points, or 0.16%, to close at 61,872.62, while the Nifty ended 35.75 points, or 0.2%, higher at 18,321.15, on the monthly F&O expiry day.

Broader markets also supported market gains as the Nifty Midcap100 index ended 0.38% higher, while the Nifty Smallcap100 index gained 0.09%.

Among sectors, Nifty Realty gained the most over 1%, followed by Nifty FMCG, Nifty Metal, Nifty Auto and Nifty IT, while Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Media ended in the red.

A total of 30 stocks advanced, while 19 stocks declined and 1 remained unchanged on the Nifty.

Global cues were mixed as worries over US debt ceiling standoff and economic slowdown were countered by upbeat corporate earnings. European stocks gained after their worst two-day selloff since March. The pan-European STOXX 600 index added 0.1%.

Investor sentiment improved after Nvidia Corp forecast quarterly revenue more than 50% above Wall Street estimates.

Top gainers: Bharti Airtel (+2.93%), ITC (+1.76%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (+1.17%), L&T (+0.99%) and PowerGrid Corporation (+0.74%) .

Top losers: Wipro (-1.35%), Tata Motors (-1.06%), IndusInd Bank (-0.91%), Sun Pharmaceuticals (-0.71%), HDFC (-0.59%).

Nifty 50:

Top gainers: Bajaj Auto (+2.95%), Adani Enterprises (+2.92%), Bharti Airtel (+2.82%), ITC (+1.90%) and Divi’s Laboratories (+1.68%)

Top losers: Wipro (-1.18%), Tata Motors (-0.94%), UPL (+0.92%), IndusInd Bank (-0.85%), and Hindalco Industries (-0.76%).

By the end of Thursday’s trading session, BSE-listed firms’ market cap stood at over 279.65 lakh crore.

BSE:

Top gainers: Revathi Equipment (+20.00%), Sky Gold (+20.00%), Valencia Nutrition (+20.00%), Dhabriya Polywood (+19.99%), and Refex Renewables & Infrastructure (+19.35%).

Top losers: Unique Organics (-16.61%), Ekennis Software Service (-12.26%), Lincoln Pharmaceuticals (-11.22%), Sayaji Industries (-10.59%), and Bloom Industries (-10.15%).

NSE:

Top gainers: Revathi Equipment (+20.00%), Sky Gold (+19.99%), Onward Technologies (15.55%), Hindware Home Innovation (+12.87%) and Salzer Electronics (+10.76%)

Top losers: Lincoln Pharmaceuticals (-10.94%), Refex Industries (-10.00%), 63 Moons (-8.94%), Pennar Industries (-8.37%) and Sikko Industries (-7.98%).
